Founder & CEO Sam Chang

I'm Sam, an amateur astrophotographer from Singapore! I first got into Astrophotography in June of 2026, when I got my hands on my first smart telescope—the Seestar S30 Pro—for my 16th birthday. Within the first week, I woke up at 4:30 AM to capture the Strawberry Moon at Jurong Lake Gardens on the other side of the country, and biked to West Coast Park to capture Venus. However, it wasn't until July that I shot my first ever Nebula, the Messier 8 Lagoon Nebula, when I absolutely fell in love with this hobby—that's also why I'm hoping to invest in a telescope rig in the future for deep sky astrophotography!Â

An astrophotographer's journey is filled with excitement, curiosity, and discovery; I'm certain that there are teenagers in Singapore who want to get into astronomy, yet each with their own barriers.

I want to break those barriers and give teenagers in my community the opportunity to share this awe-inspiring journey of astrophotography and to inspire future Astronomers around the world, starting in my home, Singapore—through AstroYouth.
